Frequently Asked Questions

Questions that no one asked but I'll answer anyway. If you have questions that you would like me to answer--send me an e-mail.

Q: What inspired you to write this story?

I've been obsessively working on this story since 2022. It's the result of my fixation on the Contactee movement and various UFO religions. This story also reflects a lot of my own suicidal ideations.

Q: Outside of UFO related topics/events, what were the other inspirations for this comic?

Umineko When They Cry was a pretty big influence on the writing of this comic. I also really love Ryukishi07's art. The original sprites are so expressive in such a specific way. Play It as It Lays was influential as well, specifically the 1972 film version. This is better explained on this page in greater detail. Elmore Leonard's crime novels made an impact on the evolution of the comic--specifically Swag. And lastly, visually speaking, this piece by artist Richard Hamilton was kind of the starting point when developing the comic.

Q: Do you use AI?

A: I do not use or endorse AI.

Q: Did you create this website with a layout builder?

A: Yes! All of the credit should go to sadgrl.online. Beyond that, this website is held together with tape and hope.

Q: What program do you use to create your comics?

A: I use an old version of Autodesk Sketchbook.

Q: Where do you get the images for the backgrounds in your comic?

A: The images in my art are sourced from either postcards or images available through wikimedia or the internet archive. I use a very rudimentary method of compositing the images to make a background. A heavy use of the lasso tool and copy and paste.

Q: I noticed an anachronistic detail in the comic. What's the deal, man?

A: Please imagine that this takes place in an alternate universe that is the same except for the places where I messed up.
